The Blue Sleigh Toy Drive is a ministry of the Empty Tomb Church and Two Thieves Motorcycle Ministry, conducted with the assistance of Volunteer Coordinators and other local community agencies. The Empty Tomb Church is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, religious charity. Empty Tomb Church is the authorized fundraising and support organization for the Blue Sleigh Toy Drive. The Empty Tomb Church arranges for the funding and support needed for successful annual toy collection and distribution processes. The Empty Tomb Church is headquartered in Avondale, AZ, located just about 30 minutes west of downtown Phoenix, AZ.
The run began when Pastor Ernie "PREACHER" LaMertha saw the need in our local community to reach unprivileged children in the West Valley of Phoenix, AZ. He approached Chaplain Shawn "UTURN" Taylor and explained his vision for a new type of Toy Run. This was the start of the Blue Sleigh Toy Run seven years ago. Today it provides more than just toys, clothes, food and other necessities to families in need including veterans and other unserved communities.
It also provides , hope, love and joy to not only the families but the riders who deliver the gifts each year.
